What is my email password?
Your email password is the password you use to retrieve your emails using the Etisalat web mail client or your own email client. This password is given at the time of subscription to the service and can be changed at any time through the Etisalat web mail interface. To free some space, you can delete any unwanted messages. At any time, you can also apply for extra storage space for your mailbox to increase its capacity, by visiting http://www.etisalat.ae/mail.
What is the use of the External Mail Option?
(WM)The 'External Mail' option provides you with a facility to access your other email accounts hosted on mail servers other than the Etisalat mail server, configured to use the POP3 protocol. If your account is hosted on any such server then those messages can be downloaded and viewed through the Etisalat web mail.
Before downloading my emails I want to keep a copy of them on the server. How do I do that?
You have two options:
1) Using POP3 you can configure your email client to 'Leave messages on server'. OR
2) Using IMAP you can view your messages directly on the server without the need for downloading them.
What is Etisalat Mail Alias service?
The Etisalat Mail Alias service allows you to change your 8 character Etisalat email name to a more meaningful name. For example, instead of having your Etisalat email account as abc@eim.ae, you can set it to yourfirstname.lastname@eim.ae. You can have up to 3 aliases for your Etisalat Mail account. Once you setup your email aliases, you will be able to receive emails using your original email accounts (e.g. abc@eim.ae) as well as your new alias (e.g. yourfirstname.lastname@eim.ae). To setup your Etisalat Mail Alias, please access our web mail service at www.etisalat.ae/mymail and select the Alias service option.
How do I check how many emails I have in my 'web mail Inbox'?
Click on the Inbox icon in the left side, which will display information similar to '{ Inbox 40 Messages (31 unread) }' which indicates the number of the messages you have.
